My Friend

I believe all of us can read Proverbs 31 and think of women in our lives that are living that Proverb; I know I can think of many that I would call a Proverbs 31 woman. There are scriptures throughout the bible that make me think of people that I have encountered over my lifetime. Yesterday I read Romans 8:38, 39 and thought of a very good friend of mine. She has endured trials this last year that would make a ‘normal’ person throw up their hands and say I quit, but not her. She has been tested by adversity and negative situations, but she has not allowed them to rule her life. She may sometimes feel like quitting, she may even ask God why and at times I have watched her cry, but no matter what she always fights back with a strength and courage that comes from her relationship with God. She is an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She has blessed every life that she comes in contact with. God has given her a great responsibility and she is doing it in His strength. I know that things are really tough right now, but I also know that she knows that these trials are only temporary and they don’t rule her life. She may let go occasionally and be ‘human’, but she always returns to the love of her life, God, and rests in His strength. I can’t finish this blog without saying that she has a wonderful husband who has walked beside her through this last year. It has been difficult on both on them, but both ‘ooze’ God’s strength. I know this ‘season’ hasn’t been easy on either of them, and both go through periods of asking why, but I also know that both of them trust God to see them through. She and her husband are a blessing to us and we are honored to call them our friends.

For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ROMANS 8:38, 39
