It’s Valentines Day and Saturday’s eve…woot woot!

A quick fact about me and the one I love, Keith…..we have loved each other for 11,136 days….962,150,400 seconds….16,036,080 minutes…..267, 264 hours….a total of 30 years 5 months and 25 days!  I can’t imagine spending these days or those ahead of us with anyone else!  

Since today is Valentine’s Day, I thought the Friday Facts should be about this day……

  • About 1 billion Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged in the US each year. That’s the largest seasonal card-sending occasion of the year, next to Christmas.
  • Worldwide, over 50 million roses are given for Valentine’s Day each year.
  • The Italian city of Verona, where Shakespeare’s lovers Romeo and Juliet lived, receives about 1,000 letters addressed to Juliet every Valentine’s Day.
  • Richard Cadbury invented the first Valentine’s Day candy box in the late 1800s.
  • Alexander Graham Bell applied for his patent on the telephone, an “Improvement in Telegraphy”, on Valentine’s Day, 1876.
