On my drive to work this morning, the DJ mentioned today is Pie Day. I thought to myself “I love Pie” and should celebrate this great day. Then I realized he meant Pi day, which I know nothing about. So, I Googled it! What I found out about Pi is that it’s the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. (why?) I may know more about one Pie than the other, but both are circle related, one you can eat and the other you can, hmmm, use to measure what you are about to eat! So, let’s celebrate Pi day with a pie!
My favorite Pie is Lemon Meringue and I think in honor of this great day, I’ll have to grab me one. I would bake one, but my sister and I tried that a few years ago at Thanksgiving and it was an epic fail. It was lemon meringue soup…a thick soup, not a creamy pie. Still eatable, but only by the two of us! I’ve never tried to make one again, only because there is this fabulous place not far from home called Pioneer Pies. They make the best Lemon Meringue pie ever! You can bet I will be grabbing one on my way home from work today!
So, if you want to celebrate Pie Day and like me, don’t want to bake one….head on over there and grab one! Don’t live in the area, no worries, they ship!
Happy pie eating!
